Heard Palmer beat south, did not hear a score but heard it was not close
Final from Anchorage-Palmer 48 South 12
omg howd this happen? did bowman just go crazy on them?
Ya i didnt pick them to win, let alone by that big of a margin.
props to palmer for downing a very good team
The scoring and decent runs were pretty well balanced. Palmer D absolutely shut down the run. It just seemed like South just wasn't in the game from the start. Palmer just did business as usual and came out big. Seemed kinda like the Service game in 07. I'd like to see the stats on this one. Pretty heartbreaking for the South Boys. Congrats Moose
I myself a Bartlett fan (father of a sophmore jv son who got to play in tonights varsity game) did not mind that South got whooped. South is clearly a school who has excelled in football, never would I have thought that Palmer could win it. Congrats Moose!
wow this is a big suprise, not saying that palmer had no chance because they are one of the best year in and year out. but i recall not that long ago when juneau beat palmer 36 to 7. is juneau really that good or have they improved drastically. or is it that the railbelt is just much more powerful.
I don't think one conference is much better than the other. What it comes down to, like any sport, is how teams match up with each other.
Colony and Bartlett match up on the line and with physical play but Bartlett had the advantage in speed. This was not a good match up for Colony.
Palmer struggled against bigger, physical teams. South was a good match up for Palmer. Palmer's sound blocking fundamentals against a not so physical team won out.
Juneau is very physical and I don't know much about Chugiak. West-North Pole is interesting. What I have seen this season is that the Railbelt is very physical, power football. I think many of the Anchorage teams have more speed. This year it all comes down to match-ups.
