The Braves jumped out to a big lead and never relinquished it as they won 53-15. The bench played a lot and at the 4th they started passing the ball around to burn off time and not run up the score. They will have a tougher match up with Monroe tonight. Hutch is a young team and they should be okay the next couple of years as they develop.

Glad to see this site isn't completely dead. So how did Edgecumbe fair against Monroe? Was it as tough as you thought it would be? How has Monroe been doing?

Mt Edgecumbe played very well against Monroe girls. They run a great pick and roll and they are quick up and down the court. They can also go pretty deep in their bench. All that said they are not very tall and if they run into a taller team that can run with them it will be interesting.
Monroe has come a long way this year with Ostanik as Coach. They have gotten tougher as the season progresses. Their weaknesses are trying to run with quicker team when they should be playing a half court game and play teams tougher In a half court defense. If they can get in the defensive mentality they may surprise some teams at regional. Although it seems to be anyone's to win this year. I haven't seen Glennallen or Delta play this year so from what I hear it may be either of those teams going to State.
