Juneau Douglas edges East 7-6 on a missed extra point.

Somewhat surprised that Juneau was able to win without Phillip Fenumiai who did not play due to injury. Coach Sjoroos once again took a somewhat unconventional route by starting freshman Brady Mallinger who was not even the JV quarterback this season. Changed the offense to a ball control running game and put the burden on the defense to carry the load... and it worked.

It was actually #14 Trevor Pfaff as QB. He quarterbacked for the JV last season.

Didn't realize Trevor was back from the injury that had sidelined him all season but that makes considerably more sense than using a freshman who wasn't even a quarterback on the JV. Even for Coach Sjoroos, that would have been a little unconventional.

Obviously the roster change wasn't given to Jason for the broadcast and he must have just went off the back cover of the program book.

Will say it was a good game to listen to 3000 miles away.

Let us not forget that in the pre-season rankings Juneau wasn't selected in the top five. They ended up turning in a one-loss season. Pretty special season for the JDHS boys.
